Welcome to DewRidge Asians and Burmese

We are Cath and Gareth Dew and we live in Swindon, Wiltshire with our two teenage sons and our beloved cats. 

We stumbled into the world of pedigree cats by chance when looking for a kitten to join our home in the spring of 2006. We were not really looking for any particular breed at that point but found Oscar, a blue Burmese who was raised not too far from us and was looking for a home. From the start he charmed us with his personality and the boys loved him to pieces.

When looking for a companion for Oscar a few months later, we learnt about Hebe who is a pedigree Asian but has the appearance of a brown Burmese.  She settled in really well and was great company for Oscar but we felt we had room for another…

When looking for a third cat later in the year, we approached Hebe’s breeder on the off chance that she had kittens and luckily she had a litter of Asian Burmilla’s for us to come and see. We were blown away by how attractive the kittens were, being of Burmese appearance but in different colours and patterns. In due course Lexie came home to join us and she became our first breeding queen. We took Lexie to her first show in February 2007 and she had her first litter of kittens later that year….and so began our love of breeding and showing. 

We are purely hobby breeders and only have a couple of litters a year. All our cats are kept indoors with access to the outside via a safe enclosure. They are a genuine part of our family and we cannot imagine life without them…
